Sony have announced two new Sound Bars and a TV base speaker for launch later this year.
If you're short of space or don't want to run speaker cables around your living room, then a sound bar or a TV base speaker could be the way to go.
Could Sony's new line-up for 2015 be what you're looking for?
Sony HT-CT780 Sound Bar

This sleek 330W sound bar delivers 2.1 channel audio and is ideal for TVs with a screen size of 46" and over.
The Sony HT-CT780 comes with S-Force PRO Front Surround processing which Sony claim will improve movie dialogue, effects and music.
The two-way speakers include dedicated tweeters for those higher frequency sounds and the .1 low frequency bass comes courtesy of the wireless external subwoofer.
To round things off, the HT-CT780 comes with 3 HDMI inputs and a single HDMI output to your TV. In other words you can plug in 3 different devices such as a DVD/Blu-ray player, set-top box and games console all at the same time.
One-touch streaming
So nothing really new or that special so far…
Well Sony have a trick up their sleeves in the form of integrated NFC (Near Field Communication) and Bluetooth connectivity. Great, but what does that mean?
This means you can instantly play (or stream) music from your smartphone, mp3 player or tablet by simply touching your device briefly against the Sound Bar (NFC) or directly controlling it via Bluetooth using Sony's SongPal app.

Sony HT-CT380 Sound Bar
The slightly smaller Sony HT-CT380 Sound Bar is designed for TVs up to 46" and is finished in both black and silver (HT-CT381).

The HT-CT380 has a slightly lower power rating of 300W but still comes with 2.1 channel audio, S-Force PRO Surround processing and a wireless subwoofer.
It also features the same One-touch technology as the HT-CT780 with built in NFC and Bluetooth.
The HT-CT380 is ideal for wall mounting but can equally be positioned on a TV stand or shelf if you don't fancy drilling holes into your wall.

Sony HT-XT100 TV Base Speaker
If sound bars aren't your thing, then how about a Base Speaker?
A Base Speaker (not to be confused with a bass speaker) is basically a TV stand and speaker in one. Sony's HT-XT100 is designed to sit underneath your TV and provides 80W of 2.1 channel sound.

This time the subwoofer is built into the base so there is no need for any external speakers. This offers a neat, all-in-one solution and an elegant way to really give your TV audio that much needed boost in power and quality.
Fed up with soft spoken dialogue when watching TV? Well the HT-XT100 comes with a smart little Voice button that when pressed, instantly enhances the dialogue.
As with the HT-CT780 and the HT-CT380 Sound Bars, the HT-XT100 also comes equipped with NFC and Bluetooth, plus the addition of a USB port for direct play from your USB memory stick.
