Sky TV

If streaming isn't your thing or your internet connection isn't quite up to scratch, then there's Sky TV itself.

It doesn't really get much better than Sky if you're after all of the latest TV shows, movies, sports and entertainment.

Sky's service provides so many high quality channels and programmes, there is literally something for everyone.

Also if top-notch quality is your thing, Sky has the biggest selection of HD channels available in the UK.

Of course all of this comes at a price and a 12-month contract.

DVD & Blu-ray

Alternatively if you want something physical to keep, you can always buy the DVD Box set

or for the ultimate in picture and sound quality you can buy the
Blu-ray Box set

You'll have to wait until February 2016 for season 5 though.

Amazon Instant Video

Finally you can buy Seasons 1-4 or individual episodes from Amazon Instant Video These work out cheaper than buying the DVD or Blu-ray Box sets but if you're not worried about owning a copy, then Now TV is still your cheapest option overall.

What is Now TV?

Cersei - Game of Thrones Season 5

Now TV brings the best of Sky TV into your home without the need for a satellite dish or signing up to a long contract.

Now TV is similar to services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Instant Video, however Now TV offers both Live and on-demand TV.

You'll need a smart device (TV, DVD player, Games console etc.) with the Now TV app installed, or if you don't have a smart device, you can buy the dedicated Now TV set top box

Since there is quite a lot on offer which is bang up to date, this does mean the services are split between different options and price plans.

Now TV price

  • Entertainment Pass - 13 top entertainment channels - £6.99 a month
  • Movie Pass  - Over 1,000 movies to watch from Sky Movies - £9.99 a month
  • Sport Pass - The biggest matches, races and events from all 7 Sky Sports channels - £6.99 for a day pass or £10.99 for a week pass.

The big benefit is none of the packages require a contract. Simply sign up for a month and if you don't like it, just cancel, no questions asked.

Entertainment Pass

The Entertainment Pass (where you'll find Game of Thrones) offers a selection of Live Sky channels, catch up content and Box sets.

  • Live TV is exactly what it sounds like. Whatever is currently showing on Sky can also be watched Live on Now TV
  • Catch-up allows you to watch something you might have missed live, however you only have a certain amount of time (typically a week) to "catch-up" before it's gone.
  •  Box sets are complete TV seasons that can be watched on-demand. There are over 250 box sets available but again they are usually time limited. So check how long the box set is available for before you commit yourself!

You get the following channels on the Entertainment Pass that you won't find on Freeview

  • Sky 1
  • Sky Atlantic
  • Sky Living
  • Fox
  • Gold
  • Comedy Central
  • Discovery Channel
  • MTV
  • ITV Encore
  • Disney Channel
  • Nickelodeon
  • Nick Jr.
